Contemporary figurative artist Alex Bermúdez, born in Lima, Peru, now based in the coffee-growing mountains of Colombia, interweaves painterly tradition with intimate narratives of resilience and transformation. Through vibrant acrylics and the delicacy of coffee ink, he engages diverse cultures and nature in its rawest state. Bermúdez challenges perfection to celebrate the cracks that reveal our shared humanity. His practice, a dialogue between the urban and the rural, invites us to inhabit the fleeting beauty of the ephemeral and the imperfect.

BIO

Alex Bermúdez (Lima, Peru, 1971) is a contemporary artist who explores the connection between emotion, memory, and transformation. Despite winning painting awards in his childhood, his early career developed in design and advertising, where he served as Art Director for multinational agencies and pursued successful ventures in culinary arts.
After many years, following some precious losses, he rediscovered a refuge in art and studied art therapy to deepen its meditative power. Based in Colombia, living on a coffee plantation, his work is divided between vibrant acrylics and the subtlety of coffee ink, reflecting his fascination with resilience, diversity, and connection with the essential. His art is an invitation to introspection and to celebrate the beauty of imperfection.
