ARTIST STATEMENT
My work is a manifesto of what the world calls 'disorder': faces migrating between cracks, species claiming their place on the canvas, languages whispering in vibrant colors.
I don't seek harmony: I seek to reveal that beauty lies in the friction of diversity. I use coffee to remind myself that even the most humble (a grain, a memory, a shadow) has the right to leave a mark. I use acrylics to shout that difference should not be tolerated, but celebrated. Who apologizes when a tree grows crooked or a river floods a city? I don't paint to ask for forgiveness. I paint to remind myself that the earth, cultures, and species don't need to justify themselves: they simply exist, and in that existence lies an act of genuine reclamation and infinite rebellion.
BIOGRAPHY
Alex Bermúdez (Lima, Peru, 1971) is a contemporary figurative artist whose work explores the connection between emotion, memory, and transformation. Despite winning painting awards at a young age, his initial career in graphic design developed in advertising as an art director for multinational agencies, followed by successful ventures in culinary arts, and 18 years of comedy.
After many years, following some precious losses, he rediscovered a refuge in art and studied art therapy to deepen its meditative power. Based in Colombia, living on a coffee plantation, his work is divided between vibrant acrylics and the subtlety of coffee ink, reflecting his fascination with resilience, diversity, and connection with the essential. His art is an invitation to introspection and to celebrate the beauty of imperfection.
Why are you considered a MULTIDISCIPLINARY ARTIST?
In addition to being an artist, he belongs to the first wave of stand-up comedians in Peru and was a champion of the second national championship. He later served as a main judge along with the country's leading comedy figures. He is a comedian at the Comedy Club. In 2016, he released his one-man show "Varón también ajuste."
In recent years, she has also completed coaching training and speaker training . She is currently training in narrative and creative writing. The truth is that he was born with a pencil in one hand and a microphone in the other.

I learned the difference between love and compassion. Compassion is a broader and more beautiful concept because it implies a commitment to action. Wishing others well doesn't create change, but by "doing" what we can to contribute to the well-being of others, we can change the world.

If loyalty means fidelity and honor, we must begin with ourselves. Loyalty to our principles, self-love, and self-care are essential practices for dignifying our hearts and a fundamental path to receiving our wisdom and higher guidance.
